Powder-coated materials need to be cleaned and maintained regularly to ensure the decorative and protective properties of the coating are in good condition as well maintained.
If the materials not in regularly maintained, the surface and prolonged contact could cause damages to the coating.
Such damages may defects like corrosion and loss of decorative effect such as staining, chalkinng and loss of gloss.
EASY CARE GUIDELINE FOR MAINTENANCE
Factors consideration for cleaning purpose
• Geographical location of the building - within the coated materials
• Environment surrounding the buildings, i.e marine, industrial, alkaline/acidic
• Levels of atmospheric pollution
• Direction of prevailing wind
• Possibility of airborne debris such as sand may cause erosion of the coating or metallic particles may cause staining of the coating
Agents or Solvents which must not be used:
• Abrasive products (cutting compounds )
• Alkaline detergent (pH > 9), bleach
• Sulphuric, acetic, nitric, hydrochloric, oxalic acids
• Soda, potash, ammonia
• Hydrocarbon and solvents: unleaded petrol, acetone, MEK, MIBK,toluene, xylene, richloroethylene and nail polish remover.
3 - SIMPLE STEP FOR MAINTENANCE
1 - Use Wet Sponge
Carefully remove any loose surface deposits with a wet sponge by gently rubbing
2 - Use ph-Neutral Detergent
Washing with clean water containing a mild detergent
- Rinse surfaces with cold running water –– pH-Neutral detergent (pH5 to 8) --
For stubborn stains use only recommended agents.
Recommended Agent / Solvent : Ethanol, Isopropanol, rubbing alcohol, fuel type E & F, white spirit, undyed petroleum, window cleaning product
3 - Rinse The Surface After Cleaning
Rinse the surfaces with clean fresh water after cleaning to remove all residues and stains
